October 15 MEETING: PONZI SCHEMES IN INSOLVENCY PROCEEDINGS

The panel will discuss what a Ponzi scheme is and related red flags. They will also discuss how a Ponzi scheme falls apart and ends up in bankruptcy and related claims that arise from a Ponzi scheme, including clawback claims and the Ponzi presumption. The panel will also discuss the interaction between a bankruptcy trustee and the Department of Justice with respect to claims and recoveries derived from a Ponzi scheme case.
