You will be a valued part of the largest organization of chapter 7 trustees in the US, with over 500 active panel trustees and a vast network of trustee assistants, attorneys, CPAs, auctioneers and service providers. This network of professionals collaborates on ideas and best practices and actively refers business opportunities to one another.
The American Bankruptcy Trustee Journal
You will receive the quarterly publication produced by Trustees for Trustees with content focused on the chapter 7 bankruptcy field.
When you need an answer or assistance from your community of trustees, the NABT listserv will provide you immediate access to your colleagues. The database of previous subjects adds to the wealth of knowledge available through the listserv.
Opportunity for Influence
You can have a voice in shaping the future of the chapter 7 bankruptcy field. For over 35 years, NABT has worked with the UST, legislators and others to improve the bankruptcy system. Contributions from NABT are often requested by decision makers regarding rules and policies.
Discounted Access to Conferences
NABT members receive discounted access to conferences. These conferences provide an average of twelve CLE hours, including valuable ethics credits, and educational content provided by leaders in the bankruptcy field as well as bankruptcy judges from around the country.
Market Assets for Sale
As a trustee you will undoubtedly have the need to sell assets. As a member you will be able to list your assets in this marketplace frequented by potential investors and buyers from all over the country. This service is offered by other companies for hundreds of dollars per listing, but as a member, you can list them here at no cost.
You will have direct access to the Amicus committee dedicated to assisting members in the creation of Amicus briefs.
Membership Types
NABT offers a variety of membership types to meet the needs of all those in the bankruptcy industry. All membership types fall into two categories:
  • Regular Members: Only Chapter 7 Trustee Members fall into this category.
  • Associate Members: All other membership types fall under this general category.
  • Market Assets for Sale subscriptions is subscription based only and is not considered a membership type for NABT.

Pursuant to NABT bylaws, only Regular Members are voting members of NABT and can serve in a voting position on the Board of Directors. There may be honorary board members selected as needed to serve on the board in non-voting positions.
